I have known the entire Cabo de Gata region since 1965, as I was lucky enough to spend many summers there with my parents, who had embarked on the adventure of buying a small vacation home near Almería. At that time, it took two or three days to get there, and it was quite an expedition to drive from France, as the highway stopped at Perpignan back then.
Almost 60 years have passed, and the region has changed enormously, but there are still places that remain absolutely untouched, completely preserved from the real estate craze. The family vacation home had to be sold when my parents passed away. I quickly realized that I could never forget this part of Andalusia that I love so much. So I decided to buy an apartment in Carboneras, a small and still quiet village, and a wonderful starting point to enjoy all the wild beaches and places where my childhood roots still lie. The pleasure of returning in summer or off-season remains intact, and I am sure that there are special forces at work here that contribute to a mental and physical renewal that is unmatched in just a few days. I have been in love with this region for many years.
This is where the ¡Vamos a Playa! experience was born.
First, the large apartment, purchased in 2018, which I listed on Airbnb to help pay the mortgage.
From the outset, I wanted to create something different, something more polished, really well equipped, where you immediately feel at home and not in an impersonal rental like so many others. After a few trips back and forth from France, including two with a 20 m³ van full of furniture found at flea markets, the first apartment was ready, and it was an immediate success on both Airbnb and Booking.
The reviews from previous tenants speak for themselves. That’s why I didn’t hesitate to invest in a second apartment two years later, with an equally beautiful terrace, located in the same building on the beach.
Airbnb and Booking are great springboards for furnished rentals. Unfortunately, these services are very expensive for both you, the tenant, and me, the landlord.
That’s why I didn’t hesitate to create this website, which allows me to offer more attractive prices so that everyone can find what they’re looking for. And I’m delighted to have a growing number of loyal tenants who come back year after year to “their apartment” and wouldn’t dream of going through Booking or Airbnb!
Betty will meet you at the apartment. After cleaning and preparing the place for you, she will welcome you, give you the keys, and show you around. Betty is always smiling and in a good mood. She is incredibly efficient at solving any problem, big or small. Without her, renting two apartments from France with peace of mind would probably be impossible…
