🏖️ Introduction: a beach to set up your parasol, settle down… and never want to leave.
When my guests ask me:
‘Nico, what is the best beach to go to with children, grandparents, or simply to relax without complications?’
My answer is always the same: Playa de las Marinicas.
It is an urban beach, quiet, well equipped, with clear water and no waves, accessible, comfortable, safe and perfect to enjoy with the family, as a couple or alone.
📍 Where is Playa de las Marinicas?
It is located in the eastern part of Carboneras, right between the Endesa industrial port and the fishing port.
It is over 1,300 metres long, with shallow waters, and is perfectly integrated with the promenade and the town centre.
📌 Search for it on Google Maps as: ‘Playa de las Marinicas, Carboneras’.
🧭 Why is it so popular?
- Easy access: Just cross the street: it’s right at the foot of the apartment.
- Gentle entry into the water: no steps or surprises.
- Showers available: to rinse off after swimming.
- Calm and safe waters, even when it’s windy.
- Small restaurants (chiringuitos), including El Jabegote at the far right end.
- Super clean: it has a blue flag and a Q quality seal.
- Relaxed atmosphere, even in summer.
🧒 For families with children: top marks Playa de las Marinicas is a favourite with local families. Why? No waves, no currents Sandy bottom (few stones)

🌅 When to go?

Spring | Good weather, few people | Cold water |
Summer | Warm sea, lively atmosphere | More visitors from midday |
Autumn | Soft light, ideal temperature | Fewer open services |
Winter | Walks and tranquility | Not suitable for swimming (except for the brave) |
💡 Nico’s tip: come between 9:00 and 11:00 or after 8 pm to have the beach almost to yourself, or stick to the far end of the beach, much less crowded.
