¡Explora la Cueva de Sorbas: una aventura subterránea en Andalucía!

Hello, friends! I’m Nicolas, your favourite host in Carboneras. Today I’m proposing an unusual getaway to discover a hidden treasure in Andalusia: the famous Sorbas Cave. If you think you’ve seen everything in the region, get ready for an Indiana Jones-style experience, underground and far from mass tourism. 🧭🕵️‍♂️

Why visit the Sorbas Cave? 💎

A geological treasure unique in Europe ✨

The Sorbas Cave, located in the Karst in Yesos de Sorbas Natural Park, is the largest underground network in Spain. Imagine thousands of gypsum crystals sparkling under the light of your helmet. A natural spectacle that you won’t find anywhere else in Europe! Ideal for introducing the whole family to caving in a safe and fun way. 🔦👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Whether you’re with family, friends or on your own, the cave offers several tours adapted to each level. Here are all the details.

The different tours in the Sorbas Cave 🗺️

Basic tour: ideal for beginners and families 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

  • Duration: 1.5 to 2 hours
  • Price: adults £18, children £13

Perfect for a first experience. It’s easy and very popular with families and older visitors (I don’t think at 80 years old you’ll be crawling through caves).
Note: although it’s accessible, you’ll still need to bend down or crawl a bit.
My tip: wear comfortable, durable clothing. 👟

Combined route: for those looking for more action 🧗‍♀️

  • Duration: around 3 hours
  • Price: adults £37.50, children £25

More athletic, requires more climbing and crawling. You’ll be rewarded with incredible views of stalactites, stalagmites and fascinating crystals. Wear sturdy shoes and be prepared to get dirtier. 💪

Technical Tour: reserved for experienced adventurers 🏅

  • Duration: 4 to 5 hours
  • Price: adults £65

Ideal if you have caving experience and are in good physical condition. You will explore the spectacular Cueva del Tesoro (Treasure Cave) and its exceptional crystals. Adrenaline rush guaranteed! 🥾

Educational tour: learn and have fun 📚

  • Duration: full day
  • Price: from £9 (school groups)

Perfect for students and those curious about geology. You’ll spend the day among sinkholes, underground lakes and impressive gypsum crystals. 🌍
